Esperance Model Aero Club, with the assistance of the AMA, held a very successful ANZAC Warbird's BBQ on their club day Sunday 22nd April. The weather and turn out at the start was looking a bit dismal and only two aviators ventured aloft but were soon back on the ground complaining of severe turbulence . The BBQ was flashed up which seemed to do the trick, as modelers with their models turned up in good numbers.
After the BBQ feast was severely depleted the weather took a turn for the better. Tim Bailey put his superbly presented Fokker Wolf aloft with a sharp display of flying, taunting others to come up and do battle. The club also took this opportunity to pay their respects to one of our founding members, now deceased, with the presentation of one of his favorite models - a rather good looking JU88 at the model clubs remembrance stone. By all accounts a jolly good day was had by all and all models went home intact . The last remaining burger patty on the BBQ, any body hungry??? Compiled by BBQ and event coordinator. W. Lance.
